Former NFL wide receiver Tony Simmons is the new head coach of the Bekescsaba Raptors of the Hungarian first division.
Tony Simmons who has played for the New England Patriots, New York Giants and Cleveland Browns has accepted the position of head coach and offensive coordinator of the Raptors, who have moved up from the second division in Hungary this season to play in the seven team league.
Simmons spent the 2010 season as playing offensive coordinator of the Triangle Razorbacks in Denmark helping guide the team to the Danish championship game. Under Tony's offense the team averaged 42.3 points per game and went undefeated (10-0)in the regular season.
Simmons played wide receiver for the B.C. Lions of the CFL for three seasons (2005-07) and spent a year with the Edmonton Eskimos as well.
He served as the offensive coordinator of the Hales Franciscan Spartan (Chicago) high school team from 2008 to 2010 as well as acting as the strength and speed and wide receivers coach. For the past 12 years Tony has traveled as a sports performance coach for high school, college and professional football teams.
