Wroclaw ends season with walkover victory after Krakow is unable to field a team
The final regular season game for both the Wroclaw Devils and the Dom-Bud Krakow Tigers was cancelled on Sunday morning, after the Tigers were unable to field a squad fit enough to compete. Krakow's roster had been decimated by injuries in recent weeks.
The Tigers had already been eliminated from the playoff race before the final fixture, while the Devils were already locked into the number three playoff seed. Krakow officially finishes the season with a 1-9 record, their only win coming on April 1 against Kozly Poznan.
The Devils, who finish the season with a record of 7-3, will now move on to face the Warsaw Eagles in the semifinals of Poland's top division for the third consecutive year. The Devils have beaten the Eagles in that round of the playoffs for each of the last two seasons, going on to win the national championship in 2010. This year's semifinal will take place in Warsaw on July 1.
